The ignition circuit of the external trigger high-pressure sodium lamp must be in series with the matching ballast, and after a trigger is connected in parallel at both ends of the lamp, the 1000W reflector HPS lamp can be used normally.
At present, 1000W reflector HPS lamp triggers are generally composed of electronic components, also known as electronic triggers. It has many advantages, such as no mechanical contact, good reliability, small size, light weight, easy to use, and is favored by users. The circuit of double voltage electronic trigger is simple. Because the trigger current of thyristor varies with temperature, the open voltage drifts in a large range and its reliability is poor. It is an early used high voltage sodium lamp electronic trigger. In recent years, bidirectional thyristor triggers have been widely used. Due to the limitations of some applications, the distance between the bulb and ballast or trigger is often very far, which leads to the high pulse voltage output by electronic trigger losing a lot during the transmission to the bulb, and the low voltage at both ends of the bulb can not start. It is suggested that the start-up circuit composed of three-terminal electronic trigger and three-terminal ballast can improve the circuit and start-up characteristics.
